River Oaks Golf Course & Event Center brings together two experiences in one scenic Cottage Grove destination. An 18 hole public golf course for players of all skill levels, and a riverside event venue for weddings, banquets, corporate gatherings, and celebrations. Located just off Highway 61, River Oaks offers Twin Cities area golfers a well maintained course and gives event planners a scenic setting with views across the Mississippi River valley.
18 Hole Public Golf In Cottage Grove
River Oaks is a municipal golf course designed to provide an enjoyable round without the private club setting or membership requirements that you often find with other golf facilities. The 10 hole, par 71 course covers 160 acres and measures 6,483 yards from the back tees. Four tee options help accommodate different playing abilities, while wide fairways, well maintained greens, and strategic hazards provide challenges for all those who step on the course.
For golfers in Cottage Grove, Woodbury, St. Paul and communities throughout the Twin Cities, the combination of public access, scenic surroundings, and course conditions makes River Oaks a fantastic option for regular rounds, casual games, and fun organized outings.
River Oaks also makes it a fantastic choice for golfers who want to play a full 18 hole course without the commitment that you need for a private club. If you want to, players can book daily rounds, purchase a season pass, or take part in programs throughout the golf season.
Golf Lessons, Leagues, And Practice
River Oaks offers more than just tee times, though. Golfers are able to work on their game with professional lessons, private instruction, adult programs, and junior lessons and leagues. The course also has a grass driving range, putting and chipping greens, and a Toptracer-equipped practice range for those who want to make practice sessions more data-driven so they can learn what they are doing right and wrong.
Golf leagues are another way to make River Oaks part of a regular routine. Programs are available for men, women, and junior players, so whether you are learning the fundamentals, returning to the game, or looking for an organized competition, there are a number of ways that you can participate.
A Scenic Riverside Event Venue
River Oaks extends beyond the golf course with a multipurpose event center that has been designed for weddings, banquets, corporate gatherings, reunions, and other private celebrations.
The setting is a major part of the appeal. River Oaks sits among scenic landscapes with views towards the Mississippi River, providing a natural backdrop that is perfect for weddings and special events. It gives something different from the traditional indoor banquet hall, which is something you see all of the time in event pictures.
There is also an outdoor wedding area, while the clubhouse includes Eagles Bar and Grill for food and drinks.
For couples planning a Cottage Grove wedding, the combination of indoor event space, outdoor scenery, and on-site amenities can make the planning process that much easier. Corporate planners can also use the venue for meetings, golf outings, and group events, which makes it fit for pretty much all purposes.
Corporate Golf Outings And Tournaments
River Oaks is also equipped for corporate golf outings, charity tournaments, club events, and even group competitions. The tournament services are designed to support organizers with planning and event coordination, which makes the course suitable for groups that are looking for golf to be the centerpiece of a company or community event – whichever you’re hosting.
This level of versatility is one of the defining features of River Oaks. A group is able to organize a golf outing on the course, and then continue the event into the clubhouse if that’s what they are interested in. This creates a setting that combines dining, recreation, and socializing all in the same place, something a lot of other courses are not able to offer at the moment.
