Rask Wins Minnesota State Open
Professional Clayton Rask of Crystal Lake GC shot a final round 2-under par 70 for a 54-hole total of 11-under par 205 to win his first Minnesota State Open title at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, MN. Rask never lost his lead in the final round and ended up winning by three shots over professional Bryce Hanstad of Alexandria GC. Hanstad shot a final round 8-under par 64 to finish at 8-under par 208 for the tournament.

Special Olympics Minnesota State Open Pro-Am
The 2010 Special Olympics Minnesota State Open Pro-Am took place Thursday, July 22nd at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, MN. The 4th annual event paired a PGA Professional with two sponsors and a Special Olympics athlete for nine holes of golf and fun.

Qualifying for the Minnesota State Open Championship began June 21st at Eagle Valley Golf Course. Follow the action to see who qualifies for the 2010 Championship at Bunker Hills Golf Club July 23-25.

PGA PROFESSIONAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2010 PGA Professional National Championship took place June 27-30 at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana. Section member Jeff Sorenson of Columbia Learning Center finished in a tie for 21st at 4-over par 290. Craig Brischke of Tanners Brook Golf Course finished the event in a tie for 59th at 12-over par 298. The low 20 professionals qualified for the 2010 PGA Championship in August being held at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.

RYAN PAULSON WINS ASSISTANTS EVENT #3
Matt Norgaard of Somerby GC shot 1-under par 71 to win Assistants Event 2 at Town and CC. One stroke back was Ryan Paulson of GolfTec and Phillip Olson of Bearpath G and CC was two strokes back at 1-over par 73.

WHITTAKER WINS MINNESOTA SENIOR OPEN
Amateur Steve Whittaker of Pebble Creek GC shot a final round 74 for a two-day total of 5-under par 139 to win the 2010 Minnesota Senior Open at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minnesota June 7-8. Playing in wet, rainy conditions and waiting out a two-hour weather delay, Whittaker was able to hold off 2004 champion Peter Krause of Hank Haney IJGA, who finished with a final round 72 for a two-day total of 4-under par 140. Professional Ty Armstrong of Glen Lake GC shot a final round 4-under par 68 and a two-day total of 2-under par 142 to finish third.
